2026 Preservationist of the Year
Medicine Wood founder Jake Jones was named the City of Cottage Grove’s 2026 Historic Preservationist of the Year in recognition of his work preserving and restoring historic buildings throughout the community, including the J.P. Furber House and Cottage Grove’s historic Old Town Hall.

Medicine Wood provides expert restoration of historic windows, doors, and architectural millwork, emphasizing repair over replacement whenever possible. Original fabric is stabilized, conserved, and returned to service for another generation. When components are missing or beyond repair, we faithfully reproduce the original joinery and millwork to create an exact replica.
Medicine Wood also offers architectural interpretation and historic structure surveys to help property owners, architects, and preservation professionals better understand the history and construction of their buildings. These investigations often guide sensitive restoration work, ensuring that interventions respect both the building's historic character and structural integrity.
